In the early 1990s, There was a developer named James Gosling who was working at Sun Microsystem. He wanted to add some features to digital devices but at that time the main problem with the programming languages was that they were platform dependent. It means that James has to write the same feature for every platform(Operating System). Therefore James started to work on developing such a language that runs on every platform.
Creation of the Green Team:
For this project, James created a team of three professional developers and name this team as Green Team. Along with James, Mike Sheridan and Patrik Naughton had also given great effort to create this language.
Name conflict with the name "OAK":
When the language was developed James named this language OAK. But later on, it was found that this name is already taken by some other corporation so unfortunately, James had to change the name from OAK to something else(something unique).
Why JAVA :
Now James had come up with some interesting names like Silk, Jolt, Revolutionary, DNA, Dynamic or Java. In the end, he was confused between Silk and Java. At last, Patrik finalized the name Java(Indonesia's first coffee name). That is the also reason the Java logo is similar to the coffee
